Introduction
Background
Bank/Financial institutions face major losses from fraudulent transactions.
Credit card fraud losses are set to reach $13.73 billion by 2024.
Solutions
Secure biometric fingerprint sensor technology provides key solutions:
•Gatekeeping tool to identify & authenticate authorized account users
•Tools for sending real-time alerts and notifications to user
Overview
Biometric fingerprint sensor technology provides enhanced security by ensuring that only authorized users are able to complete transactions. The technology also provides a tool for real-time message notifications to the user.
Requirements
•No change to the payment infrastructure.
•Fail safe (FP files) + card owner authentication
•No change to the card manufacturer supply chain
•Minimizing the cost increase when adding fingerprint sensor functionality to existing card production
Details
Biometric Fingerprint Credit Cards
This technology portfolio provides a new method of protection for payment (credit/debit) cards without requiring consumers
to change their behavior. The technology enables a biometric fingerprint scanning feature added onto a card for authentication.
Authorizing the use of transaction card
A portfolio of technologies that utilize dynamic manipulation of a transaction card to authorize the use of a payment
(credit/debit) card.
Dynamic Display Information Card
Invention provide a card (e.g., identification, debit card, credit card, smart card, etc.) having a dynamic information display panel
integrated therein. The display panel is typically activated when user uses the card. This can occur when the card is swiped,
and/or is powered up via an integrated energy panel (e.g., by an external light source). Alternatively, the card can be powered by
RFID coupling, smart IC contact, battery, etc. Upon powering up, displayed information is used to: identify the user;
and/or show private information to user only.
Light-powered Smart card for Online Transaction Processing
A light-powered smart card for automated information (static and dynamic) exchange related to commercial transactions.
The technology enables the back light of a point-of-sale terminal to read card information shared between the cardholder
and the card company and generate a corresponding source validation code (SVC).
Sensor Technology (Optical Thin-Film Transistor Technology
This technology portfolio enables a multi-sided fingerprint scanning device on a card (e.g., credit card, smart card, ID card, etc.)
with an energy-efficient method for attaining accurate fingerprint information using a multiple charge-coupled biometric sensor array.
M2M Bar code & QR Code Improvement
Fingerprint sensor card may be used in conjunction with smartphone, ATM or devices to make online payments more convenient.
